The show was absolutely amazing, absolutely mind-blowing. I don't think I can remember a single concert where the response from the audience was this great. Seriously. It was absolutely wonderful. If you have the chance to see him live, I suggest that you
take that chance and have an absolute blast.
I can't remember the whole set list, however I remember BOOM-HAH-BOOM-HAH-HAH, 素晴らしきかな、この世界, 歌舞伎男子 (I'm not 100% positive, but I think he played this D:), おっさんおっさん俺なんぼ, 咲き誇る華の様に, and Are you ready to ROCK?
The best way for my to explain this would probably be from the very beginning so please let me start over.
When Carolyn and I arrived at the venue, we met up with Jess, Melody, & Soni (?); Marcie was at an ATM somewhere. I gave them the cupcakes that I had baked in the morning and they gave me the DS that I bought from Meg & a Winnie the Pooh letterset. <3 I guess we just chilled and caught up on things as we waited for the doors to open. I think at one point, Natz crossed the street with a box of flyer/postcards and was just passing them out. :3
Doors opened and the VIP group was let in first (apparently, they ate at the Avalon's restaurant?), then us while the people for will call & guest list waited for their tickets at the box office. Once we got our tickets scanned, we practically ran for the floor. Made it, third row between Jess (right) and Carolyn (left); Melody was second row, in front of Carolyn; Soni & Marcie were a few people over from Jess's right. Security made all of us sit so I sat on my calves... kind of like a kneeling position? Big mistake, It was far from eight, so basically, my legs died beneath me so I kept fidgeting.
Five minutes to eight: everyone got up and went for the front (aka, we all surged forward). I ended up second row, between Carolyn & Jess, Melody got bar, and we lost Marcie & Soni.
The crowd went crazy. Seriously. When the Kabuki Boiz went on stage, that was one type of crazy. When Miyavi went up, hiding beneath his coat (or whatever it was), it was
nuts. People that were way behind us ended up beside or right behind us, oh my god. Simply put: I had the wind knocked out of me. Because the crowd's reaction was so positive and everyone wanted to get closer, I was basically spooning the girl in front of me during the whole show.
At one point, they played BOOM-HAH-BOOM-HAH-HAH. Oh my gosh, that was too fun for words, I'm serious. Tyko and Miyavi and Saro all urged us to clap our hands for the 'boom' and then do the.. dj-type/dish thing(?... I'LL RECORD A VIDEO OR DRAW SOMETHING TO EXPLAIN LATER XD) for the 'hah/hah-hah' parts. It was really fun.
During おっさんおっさん俺なんぼ, Tyko and Miyavi made us repeat them "おっさんおっさん俺なんぼ!" and eventually it changed to "おっさんおっさん~~~(because I can't remember what it was exactly :D;;)". It was so cute. XD
During 君にファンキーモンキーバイヴレーション, Miyavi would repeat "ファンキーモンキー" with all these different tones of voice and Tyko would mimic him...until Miyavi decided to go all raspy/throaty/
sexy, lmfao. Rather than mimic
that, Tyko just laughed and shook his head no. XD
During Miyavi's thirty minute break (said so himself, but it really didn't feel like it), DJ Teddy Loid (thanks for the name, Panda) remixed a whole mess of songs and we'd dance around, singing along. I loved the remixed version of Senor Senora Senorita, it was just so fun! Everyone was singing along to the first few lines then they'd get lost... until the next '1, 2, 3...." XD <3
By the this time, of course, people were packed in more than ever so I was quickly becoming distressed (those random bursts of AC worked wonders though). Miyavi came back on stage, alone, and speaks with us before commencing into one of his songs as the rest of the Kabuki Boiz appear on stage again.
"Unfortunately.. Unfortunately.. Unfortunately.. Unfortunately.. Wait, hold on. I just learned this word. .. Unfortunately. Unfortunately...? Unfortunately, all goods things must come to an end. ...(something something something)"For his last song, he played Are you ready to ROCK? Oh my god, it was absolutely BRILLIANT! It was so fun to dance to, headbang (although there wasn't enough room to do so, the dancing was easier because everyone was doing it) to, and just sing along with.
He left the stage after that song and immediately, people began to call his name, chanting it as if it was some sort of mantra. He eventually comes back for the encore. The crowd quiets as he speaks.
"This is a very special night for us... (something something something) But we will meet again/see each other again soon, right?! (he smiles as the crowd screams their approval). Yes, so until we met again, don't lose sight of your dreams. I never let go of my dreams, that's what I'm here. (crowd screams) Okay. This last song is to you (he points at the audience), from Miyavi... with love."He strums a few chords.
"...踏みにじられたって..."
The audience went wild.
In my opinion, it was the perfect last song. And that moment where everyone was quiet, where everything was silent as he strummed, that split second where he broke the silence.. it was absolutely beautiful. I forgot about my discomfort, about the pains, everything washed away for that single moment. It was worth it all.
After the encore was over, Jess moved to the side a bit and I stumbled from the sudden absence of a crowd surrounding me/holding me up. (Sorry, after spooning someone for over two hours, you'd be kinda unstable, too.) We were so wet with sweat, it was like we were caught in the rain. We found Melody & Carolyn and headed for the merchandise table. It was crazy there. Thanks to Jess & Melody, though, we got to the front A okay. :D I ended up buying a L hoodie, L tank, & pins. :3
When we were all done with merchandise, we headed outside to find Carolyn (who had gone outside first) and when we grouped together, Jess R. Kelly'd a guy. :X And she commented on how her R. Kelly beat Melody's. It was really cute. We all (minus Marcie who had left with Soni earlier) walked to Jack in the Box and got food! :D And then Marcie met up with us after getting Thai food from across the street. :3
We all just ate and talked about the concert and took photos. It was all pretty cool. We spent probably an hour and a half there (Marcie left early on though) talking before we split ways. Carolyn is going to see/bump into them at Hollywood Bowl, most likely. I'll see Jess again in November for PMX (Jess's #1 fan right here :D<3) but I'm not sure when I'll see Melody & Marcie again. I didn't cry when we said good bye but now I can't help but get teary-eyed now that I think about it. It won't be that long though. A few months and November will roll by. After that, graduation, and then.. my pre-college summer. I've already got an idea of what I want to do. AnimeNEXT anybody?
And.. Jess and I are going to try our absolute best to go to D'espairsRay's 10th anniversary live. So that probably accounts for next September as well.
So yeah, now that the show's over, all I have to do now is work hard and keep moving forward. I have to make the people, that I love, proud, right? So just gotta keep running and soon it will all be worth it again. :)
Good day my dears, please do your best as well. When we are finally able to reach that crazy goal of ours, no matter what it is, that's when we can stop running and just walk. Until then, no stopping! <3
頑張ってね、皆さん。 (...lol, I'm pretty sure I got that wrong. jdlkdahj ;x; )
Oh yeah. I think the MCs are a bit out of order. >x>;
That's the end of this chapter in a book called Life. :)
